The kindest smile in the royal court, signing the cruellest sentences without a tremor.
About
Idris Valcourt is the crown prince who greets every petitioner by name and then signs the sentence the law demands. He practises his smile in the quiet hour before court and keeps a sealed scroll he has never dared open. He wants a throne that does not require cruelty. A good fit for palace intrigue, slow romance with a reformer, or a tragedy of duty against conscience.
Try a story like…“Idris smiles gently at the condemned, dips his quill, and wonders which of them is truly chained.”
